The 8th Annual Iron Hill Charity Golf Open was held on October 10th at The Club at Morgan Hill in Easton, Pennsylvania. The event brought in $50,000 to benefit the Lehigh Valley Military Affairs Council (“LVMAC”) and New Jersey National Guard Family Foundation (“NJNGFF”). Despite a challenging economy, the total raised established a new record for the tournament.
Major corporate sponsors of this year’s Open included: Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, O'Brien & Gere Engineers, Inc., Ocean Utility Contracting, Inc., Flexicon Corporation, Fenstermacher Construction, Land Services USA, Inc., Comroe Advanced Power, Environmental Consulting, Inc., Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC, PA Site Contractors, Inc., Pusey Electric, Country Classics, Inc., Pennoni Associates Inc., Van Cleef Engineering Associates, Strahman Valves, Inc., Pany & Lentz Engineering Co., Jones Lang LaSalle, Raritan Bay Contracting Inc., Cerminara Architect, Scholes Electric & Communications, RCM Properties, LLC, Bishop Photo, Alert Fire Protection, Inc., and Albarell Electric, Inc.
“Our company is proud to support both the NJNGFF and LVMAC,” said JGPCO founder and president, Jim Petrucci. “We share their belief that government can’t do all that is required to support our military personnel and their families – the business community must step in. Many thanks to the dozens of companies that have joined us in this effort.”
The event was kicked off by a Presentation of the Colors by the Louis E. Dieruff High School USAF Jr. ROTC Color Guard. After dinner, we were honored to have Major Victor M. Pereira, United States Air Force, speak to us about his story and the challenges he faced.
LVMAC and NJNGFF work to improve the lives of local military, veterans and their families, to foster and coordinate support from local businesses, organizations and communities and to promote awareness of the military’s role in defending America. In addition, both organizations provide monetary assistance through scholarships and grants to needy military families.
