In 2003, JGPCO designed and built a first 40,000 sq. ft. office building for Markel Underwriters (“Underwriters”). Underwriters is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Markel Corporation (NYSE: MKL), an international property and casualty insurance holding company. Several years later, when Underwriters needed to expand, JGPCO was called upon to construct a second building that in both its size and classic red brick design would create a unified and inviting campus environment.
