ASBURY, NJ, January 8, 2009 —J.G. Petrucci Co., Inc. (“JGPCO”), one of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania region’s most respected development and design-build organizations, has completed a 100,000 square foot, rail-served warehouse/distribution center in Forks Township, Pennsylvania for Weyerhaeuser Co., one of the world's largest forest products companies. The new build-to-suit facility is located at 4225 Braden Boulevard and is the first building completed at the 124-acre Forks Business Center.
Located just north of Easton, Pennsylvania, ForksBusinessCenter is bounded by Uhler, Glover and Kesslersville Roads and has convenient access to Interstate 78, as well as Routes 33 and 22. The Center is zoned General Industrial, making it ideal for warehouse and manufacturing facilities. JGPCO’s scope of work also included the construction of Braden Boulevard and improvements to Uhler Road. These projects reflect total infrastructure improvements valued at more than $5 million.
“With J.G. Petrucci Co., Inc we’ve had a good working partner,” said Craig McDonald, Weyerhaeuser region manager. “We look forward to the project being completed so we can better serve our customers in the region.” The project has been the culmination of efforts across Weyerhaeuser, incorporating LEAN and Six Sigma disciplines to create a state of the industry World Class distribution facility. Weyerhaeuser plans to use the new facility as a regional distribution center for its iLevel building products business.
When completed, ForksBusinessCenter is expected to generate some $300 thousand in annual taxes and bring in an estimated 400 new jobs. At present, 16 lots remain available in the park for either a build-to-suit or sale.
Greg Rogerson, a principal at JGPCO, noted “Forks Business Center provides a perfect location for national and regional headquarters facilities.” He added, “Companies such as Binney & Smith, Fort James Corp., Strober-Haddonfield, Paragon Technologies and Tioga Pipe Supply have all found Forks Township to be an ideal location to grow their businesses.”
