J.G. Petrucci Co, Inc. and Iron Hill Construction Management donate $180,075.00 to support veterans, military personnel, and their families

On Monday, October 12, 2021, J.G. Petrucci Co., Inc. and Iron Hill Construction Management hosted the 18th Annual Iron Hill Charity Golf Outing. For 18 years and counting, the firms have partnered with local construction and real estate professionals to raise money that supports our brave veterans, military personnel, and their families.
Nearly 240 golfers gathered to enjoy a sunny day of golf at Fiddlers Elbow premier golf club. They enjoyed over $6,000.00 of prizes, a farm-to-table spread, ample networking, and the insightful/impactful words of the keynote speaker, Lt. Col. Stacie M. Piccinich.
Lt. Col. Stacie M. Piccinich serves as an Inspector-Instructor, 6th Communication Battalion, a reserve unit with a contingent of active-duty Marines. The battalion resides on the 70-acre site, dedicated and named the Curtin-Garvey Complex. Piccinich shared the heroic story with guests of how that building dedication came to be.
Twenty years ago, on September 11, 2001, retired Sergeant Major Michael S. Curtin, an NYPD officer, and reserve marine, GySgt Garvey, an FDNY officer, without hesitation, embodied the Marine Corps’ legacy of service to our country. As the world around them began to crumble, both men never backed down and always had their team’s back.
“The Marine Corps legacy is a collective action of how we not only remember our institution’s past but use it as a sense of pride, family, and continuation of what we do best: successfully serve and protect our country in the most austere and challenging environments,” explains Lt. Col. Stacie M. Piccinich. “It serves not only as motivation but a humble reminder of the legacy that I, along with the rest of the Marines and Sailors in the Battalion, are charged with to carry on in their absence.”
Over the years, more than $1,600,000.00 has been donated to veteran and military-focused non-profits that are chosen based on the work they do.
“After the year we’ve had, there’s nothing better than to gather together on a beautiful day for an important cause. We’re thrilled that year after year, our partners, clients, subcontractors, and vendors, continue to see the importance of the incredible work these military and veteran-focused non-profits do,” explains Greg Rogerson, Principal at J.G. Petrucci Co., Inc. “It’s a cause that is near and dear to many folks in our industry, and we’re honored to be a big part of connecting folks with these incredible organizations.”
This year’s selected non-profits work to improve the lives of our local military service members, veterans, and their families by fostering and coordinating support from businesses, organizations, institutions, and communities. These organizations are dedicated to promoting awareness of the military’s role through educational programs, public events and providing monetary assistance through scholarships and grants to military families in need.
This year, $180,075 has been donated to the following veteran-focused non-profits based on the well-respected work and support they offer to veterans, military personnel, and their families.
