Two hundred and forty golfers participated in the 18-hole, play-your-own-ball tournament at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club, raising funds for Lehigh Valley Military Affairs and Community Hope for Veterans.
On October 10th, J.G. Petrucci Company, Inc. and Iron Hill Construction Management Company hosted the 13th Annual Iron Hill Charity Golf Open at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
This year’s event brought together over 240 golfers, 300 lunch guest, 70 corporate sponsors and raised $100,000 for Lehigh Valley Military Affairs and Community Hope for Veterans.
“Every year, I think it’s the best one yet,” said Greg Rogerson, Principal at J.G. Petrucci Co., Inc., “However, I am very proud to say that our players and sponsors come through making each year more successful than the last. We realize that government cannot do all that is required to support our veterans, deployed military personnel and their families and that is why it so important for the business community to step in. We are so grateful for the companies that have joined us in this effort and look forward to more success in
the years to come.”
Throughout the tournament’s history, the event has raised a total of $800,000 and is typically sold out. Prizes were awarded for the longest drive, closest to the pin and to the top two teams with the lowest scores. Golfers, volunteers, and sponsors were treated to a luncheon reception that featured an award-winning leader and decorated combat veteran as the guest speaker. As a retired Marine, who completed five deployments and lead Marines through recent history’s most significant battles in both Iraq and Afghanistan, Captain Ryan Sparks explained the importance of supporting our troops to the crowd. Ryan’s powerful messages lead to a well-deserved standing ovation.
A huge thank you goes out to Ryan Sparks and all the sponsors who helped make the 13th Annual Iron Hill Charity Golf Open an exciting and successful fundraising event!
