J.G. Petrucci Company, Inc. gathered Tuesday, October 5th, to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the Station at East Orange. J.G. Petrucci has partnered with TD+ Partners, East Orange Housing Authority, and the City of East Orange to transform a once-blighted site into a mixed-use development with luxury apartments and retail space.
“My administration is dedicated to creating high-quality, affordable housing for the residents of the City of East Orange. This new development is another example of our commitment to eliminate blight while building mixed-used housing that is accessible for a range of income levels. The Station at East Orange offers a great deal of hope for redevelopment, including new job opportunities and increased economic activity in our community,” said Mayor Ted R. Green. “We are excited to continue the partnership we share with the East Orange Housing Authority, J.G. Petrucci Company, and TD+ Partners, and we are looking forward to furthering our mission to improve the quality of living for all of our residents in the City of East Orange.”
Situated on North Walnut and Williams Street, the new multi-use community includes 172 high-efficiency one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, 30% of which are designated affordable housing units, 3,477 sq. ft. of retail space, and an enclosed terrace courtyard. The units offer modern finishes, floating kitchen islands, stainless steel appliances, central air, and top-of-the-line amenities, including a fitness center, business center, and art gallery.
“This redevelopment, part of our ‘Building Homes, Changing Lives’ program, will greatly enhance the quality of life for the property’s residents and provide services that are too often overlooked,” said Wilbert Gill, Executive Director of the East Orange Housing Authority. “As we continue to create new solutions to maintain affordability for all our residents, partnerships with companies like TD+ Partners and J.G. Petrucci Company Inc. are more important than ever.”
In addition to the top-of-the-line features included in the new development, the luxury apartment community offers residence ample walkable amenities, including retail shops, medical centers, and easy access to public transportation. The community sits just seven miles from Newark Liberty International Airport and about 30 minutes driving distance from New York City.
“We commend Mayor Ted Green and the City Council of East Orange for the exemplary leadership they have provided in forming a true partnership to make this development project a reality. The provision of mixed-income housing is essential towards making housing more affordable to more residents of East Orange and across the State of New Jersey,” explains Patrick Terborg, Managing Member of TD+ Partners. “We value our strong partnership with the East Orange Housing Authority; without the tireless support of Director Gill and his team, this project would not be possible. We look forward to welcoming soon the over one hundred and seventy-two families that will be calling this high-quality housing development their home in the near future.”
