On June 10th, the Petrucci Family Foundation (PFF) hosted its 17th annual “Top 12” banquet at the Newark Museum of Art to celebrate the academic excellence of the top 12 seniors in the Irvington High School Class of 2024, as well as the top junior and the top sophomores.
“It is always great to take time to honor these remarkable scholars. They deserve this night to celebrate and reflect on their success,” says Shelley E. Pettiford, Director of Guidance and Health & Social Service Coordinators for Irvington Public Schools. “These exceptional scholars have demonstrated outstanding leadership, dedication, and academic excellence throughout their high school years.”
Students, their loved ones, Irvington High School faculty, and Irvington Board of Education members all gathered for a dinner and awards ceremony to celebrate the students’ achievements. Each student was given the opportunity to deliver remarks reflecting on their academic achievements and future aspirations, as well as thanking those who supported them along the way. After accepting their award, each student honored a teacher who had a special impact on them by presenting them with a white rose.
“I am always astounded by the dedication and work ethic of these high school students— they have bright futures ahead of them. As always, it was a true pleasure to sponsor this event.” Says Jim Petrucci, President and Founder of J.G. Petrucci Company and Trustee of Petrucci Family Foundation.
