J.G. Petrucci Company, Inc. delivered a 17,000 sq. ft. community and religious education facility for the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Paterson, New Jersey. The building provides additional space for the Cathedral’s community initiatives and now serves as the home of Brilla Public Charter Schools, which opened for the 2023–2024 academic year to support students both inside and outside the classroom.
Located within the Old Great Falls Historic District, the facility was designed to complement the surrounding historic architecture with masonry elements while incorporating modern features such as fiber cement siding and trim on the second story. The project also connects to the Cathedral’s existing gymnasium and parish offices through the basement, allowing seamless access for the Cathedral’s ongoing programs and activities.
Cerminara Architect served as architect on the project, while construction was completed by Iron Hill Construction Management.
