Services Design/Build Expansion

J.G. Petrucci Company, Inc. and Iron Hill Construction Management completed an $18M Design/Build dormitory expansion on Northampton Community College’s (NCC) main campus, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The expansion included building two resident halls, a kitchen, a dining hall, outdoor gathering areas and additional security features for the increase in students. While NCC already had two dorms, they did not have food services or amenities that many other schools included for students. J.G. Petrucci consulted with USA Architects, NCC faculty, and students to devise plans that met the college’s budget and needs.

Under the skillful direction of J.G. Petrucci and Iron Hill, the construction teams melded the design of the new buildings to match the existing student housing, which was built in 1986. The new complex gives an additional 330 students the chance to live on the campus. Residents now enjoy amenities that include dining commons with a 35-foot ceiling and panoramic views, complimentary laundry facilities, 24-hour security, and lounges. Additional project features include upgraded stormwater management and significant improvements to the college’s landscaping.
