J.G. Petrucci Company, Inc. completed the Development and Design/Build of St. Luke’s University Health Network- Richard A. Anderson Campus. The 250,000 sq. ft. LEED-Certified campus is comprised of two medical buildings and a Cancer Treatment Center.
For six years, St. Luke’s found itself in the difficult position of not only needing to obtain land development approvals for the 500-acre tract, but also coordinating and obtaining Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) approval for the full-build corridor improvement of Freemansburg Avenue.
Despite significant design changes and a challenging timeline, J.G. Petrucci transformed 500 acres of farmland into a state-of-the-art hospital campus. The company collaborated with St. Luke’s, Bethlehem Township, and PennDOT to develop and implement a plan to accommodate St. Luke’s development needs while simultaneously securing the required phased corridor improvements of Freemansburg Avenue. All land development approvals, including the coordination of the Interim Highway occupancy permits, were obtained by J.G. Petrucci.
At the time it was built, the Anderson Campus was the first new, full-service, acute-care hospital constructed in Pennsylvania in over 40 years. The project was awarded “Project of the Year” by the Lehigh Valley March of Dimes at the Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Awards for its significant impact on the economic development in the Lehigh Valley.
