J.G. Petrucci Company, Inc. entered into a public-private partnership with the City of Plainfield and TD+ Partners to create meaningful opportunities for residents and delivering real economic value to the City of Plainﬁeld. The workforce housing and economic development project features a thoughtfully designed mixed-income residential project that will set the benchmark for excellence in urban design. The Station at Grant Avenue features a five (5) story building, 90 workforce apartment units, secure covered parking, courtyard, gym, and community room. The residences feature stone granite countertops, hardwood flooring, and Energy Star appliances, including full-size washers and dryers.
Utilizing its strong experience in urban redevelopment projects, J.G. Petrucci and TD+Partners joined efforts to transform the environmentally compromised property into a multi-purpose civic asset that would address multiple needs within the community. Together they worked with City officials to create a redevelopment plan for the site that was able to leverage New Market Tax Credits, which allowed the project to be financially feasible.
The Station at Grant Avenue has provided employment opportunities, boosted economic activity, and has assisted with revitalizing the City of Plainﬁeld. The residential phase will provide young professionals in the Plainﬁeld community with safe, affordable housing with easy transit access.
